Mums of the Shire is a thriving and supportive online community, and our events aim to recreate that same vibrancy and passion in real life. We think it’s really important for our mums to meet regularly and in person, so every few months we try to create opportunities for them to connect with each other and share in the highs and lows of motherhood!
We aim to ensure our mums catch up in a relaxed, casual environment, with some fun entertainment to keep the kids occupied so they can relax. We also create ways for mums to sample interesting and relevant services or products offered by local businesses for free without any hard-sell or pressure. And, most importantly we do our best to make sure we chose a venue with good coffee close to hand!
In the past we’ve held both intimate and large-scale events, at private and public venues, but the key is always to make sure everyone has fun!

Camellia Gardens, Caringbah
Motherhood was celebrated in style, among the lush green surrounds of Camellia Gardens at our last Mums of the Shire catch-up of 2018. The stunning location made for a fun and relaxed event, where kids could roam and enjoy all the wonderful activities, while mums got to connect and socialise.
We are very lucky to have so many local businesses who came together and gave their time to ensure there was plenty of fun and engaging activities for kids to enjoy, as well as something special for mums.
The ‘mums meeting mums’ area was a hit thanks to Inspire Love Wedding & Event Hire for providing all the lovely decor, Emma Wiseman Naturopathy for spoiling us with healthy and delicious treats and Glitter Girls Pamper Parties for providing some much-needed pampering.
Mums had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Alex from iMove Physiotherapy about women’s health and getting back into exercise while having their tummy separation checked and assessed. Veena Parry from Sleep Sweet Sleep Deep offered advice on all things sleep while Caroline Flynn Lactation Consultant IBCLC was helping mums with their concerns around infant feeding. The lovely ladies from St George Montessori Early Learning did not get a moments rest with so many little people eager for their turn in the face-painting chair. Little Kickers Sutherland Shire wore the kids out with their energetic soccer-based games. Kids got very creative, making some beautiful nature inspired art thanks to The Creativity Club. They also enjoyed some peaceful story time and yoga put on by Star Yoga For Kids.
Smallprint Sutherland Shire offered mums cute little paper and ink handprint keepsakes and were very generous donating a $150 voucher to the lucky door prize pool. Impressionable Kids Sutherland Shire were also very generous donating $150 voucher to a lucky winner on the day. A big thanks to Camellia Gardens and Sutherland Shire Council for allowing us to enjoy such a wonderful space and allowing the little people to play their ball games in the gardens on this special occasion. And, here for your enjoyment are some wonderful memories from the day captured by the very talented Sasha Faint.

Rydges Cronulla Beachside
Fashion and fun were on the menu for our recent winter catch-up at the fabulous Rydges Cronulla Beachside, and we were so pleased to see so many of you there connecting with other mums as well as supporting local businesses. And, how good were those scones with jam and cream? OMG yum!
We were completely blown away by the response to this event, with all tickets snapped up in less than two hours, and the venue at maximum capacity on the day. We were incredibly lucky to have the support from so many Sutherland Shire businesses who made this event possible; our friends from Little Styles and The Kid + Co, showcased their super adorable kids’ clothing, while affordable and stylish womenswear was on offer from Maiden Avenue and Kindred Souls.

The Bavarian, Miranda
In partnership with Westfield Miranda, this sold-out event, provided the perfect pre-Mother’s Day celebration; a chance to see friends or meet other local mums over morning tea.
Kids were entertained with face painting, story time, balloons and craft, while mums got to enjoy a morning of canapés and a glass of champagne. Stylist-to-the-stars Donny Galella walked our guests through the season’s trends modelled by three lucky local mums who won our ultimate makeover competition.
