Creating a community for Mums of the Shire
Hi there! I’m Mia – the founder and main mum behind the scenes at Mums of the Shire.
We all know motherhood is awesome, but it can also be challenging and isolating at times, right?
Having lived in the Shire most of my life I consider myself a local, but on becoming a mum, I was thrown into a new world that I didn’t know anything about. It was difficult to find the resources and support that I needed as a new mum. So I created Mums of the Shire!
I believe in bringing local mums together. I’m passionate about good laughs, great coffee, sharing advice and helping to make life for mums of the Shire a little easier.
Connected mums, connecting mums
As our community has grown in size since I first started out, I’ve added two other lovely local mums to the Mums of the Shire team to help me support you all.
Gemma Stevens is our Partnerships and Events Manager. Gemma is an experienced Events and Business Development Manager. She cordinates the ins and outs of our fabulous events. She also ensures works with our targeted directory members and business partners to showcase their offerings to our niche audience. If you’re interested in being involved in an editorial, business feature or one of our events, Gemma is happy to assist.
Kirrily Weatherstone has joined us as the Marketing and Content Manager. Kirrily is an experienced marketer and copywriter, responsible for growing and engaging our audience. She ensures the content published to our website, newsletter and social channels is relevant, helpful and captivating so that local mums can always find the answers they’re looking for through the Mums of the Shire Instagram or Facebook page, the Facebook group and of course the blog, directory and what’s on section of our website.
Between us, we have six children. We know first-hand how difficult it can be to; find shops with aisles big enough for a double pram, entertain kids without relying on screens, come up with interesting and healthy meal ideas each week and host children’s birthday parties. We’re primed to matchmake local mums and local businesses so that everyone wins.
More than a community
At Mums of the Shire, you can make mum friends (online and in real life), get relevant advice, and gain access to a directory of local businesses and products geared toward making life simpler for mums.
Mums of the Shire is more than a community of local mums, it’s a one-stop-shop for all your mum needs.
