MOTS reader Emma Wheatley tells us below about her recent experience with the GWM Haval H6 Lux and what led her to buy one from Sutherland Shire GWM dealership Dominelli GWM.
Why were you in the market for a new car?
We’ve been looking to upgrade to a bigger car with more boot space, as we are pregnant and need all the room we can get! Also, we wanted to have a newer model with better safety features.
What made you approach Dominelli GWM?
We approached Dominelli GWM because we knew they were the only dealership in the Shire that sells Haval SUVs. Haval is significantly cheaper than other SUVs on the market, so we wanted to take one for a test drive and get some information on the car and its reputation.
What were your thoughts on the Dominelli customer service?
We thought the customer service at Dominelli GWM was excellent. Everyone we spoke to had extensive knowledge of Haval and all the individual models we were interested in, and they were super friendly and not pushy at all. They even suggested we take the car on a test drive to Baby Bunting to see how well the pram would fit in the boot which I thought made all the difference.
What was your first impression of driving the H6 Lux 4×2?
We loved it! It is a much bigger car than our previous car, but it didn’t feel massive on the road, was extremely smooth to drive and felt quite luxurious inside.
What benefits and features of the H6 Lux stood out to you the most?
The ANCAP safety rating – in particular the high percentages in each category was something we really liked. It was very comparable in this area to other big brand SUVs on the market. We also really like the 360 degree camera, this is great for parking and being totally aware of everything around us. This feature in other cars only usually comes with top of the range models, however this is offered in the Haval Lux, as well as the Premium. We also loved the look of the car both inside and out.
Finally, the 7 year warranty sealed the deal for us. Haval may not be as well known as other SUV brands in Australia, however knowing that the manufacturers back their product for such an extended period of time gave us peace of mind to try them out for the significant cost difference to comparative vehicles.
How was the sales process experience for you?
Quick and easy. Dominelli’s was fantastic and got us a good deal on the trade-in of my previous car. Our new car was ready for collection two weeks later.
Are you happy with your new car?
Yep, we love it! I’ve recommended it to plenty of other people already and we’ve only had it for a short time!
